Topshop Lipstick - Mink

Back with another Topshop Beauty gem in lipstick form.

It's a muted pink nude shade with strong brown tones and a warm undertone. The shade is absolutely beautiful, think Mac's Velvet Teddy just slightly more brown - it's fab.

The formula is creamy and pigmented. It's comfy to wear which is particularly welcome during the season of chapped lips but the longevity is a little disappointing. It's a satin finish so there's no shine to it but it's most definitely not matte so it doesn't last very long throughout the day, and you can say a swift farewell to it if you're eating or drinking absolutely anything. It is easy to reapply though so you could always bring it with you on the go, or, if it disappears on you, it fades evenly and without staining so you don't have to worry about any random patches of colour left on your lips - which is always a bonus.

I think Topshop has reworked their formula of a couple of their lipsticks as I've noticed that they're starting to lose their true matte finish which breaks my heart because I bloody adored it. The formula is still nice and the pigmentation and quality of the lipsticks hasn't really changed but, as an avid fan of matte lipsticks, I can't help but be a little bit bummed. Even with that, I still head over heels love Topshop make up and their lipsticks in particular. Good job, Topshop.

What's your favourite lipstick at the moment? Do you own any Topshop lipsticks?

  1. Ahh that sucks that it isn't as matte as before :( I think with the popularity of matte liquid lipsticks, a lot of brands are calling their products matte even if they're really more of a matte finish. At least this one is still awesome in every other category :)
